Restoration of historical structures
In architecture, conservative restoration is a set of interventions where the transformation and conservation of the structures are integrated as much as possible in compliance with the existing ones (both of the material and physical aspects as well as the immaterial ones such as meaning, history, etc.), bearing in mind users’ requirements and available resources.
Due to its nature, enhancement and recovery activities require an interdisciplinary approach involving urban planners, restorers and architects, but also structural engineers, plant engineers, geologists, historians, art historians.
